Examination Credit Frequently Asked Questions
Testing Center handles the loading of test scores and articulation of test credit into student accounts. More information about the types of Examination Credit can be found on the Examination Credit webpage.
Advanced Placement (AP)
Please have the student email the Testing Center from their OSU email address. When an advisor emails us, it creates a separate record in Salesforce.
The student should first check their Advising Report to see if their AP scores have been posted to their account. They can generate an Advising Report by logging into their Buckeye Link account and selecting “Generate Advising Report” under their Academics section. All test scores, including AP, will be posted in the left column under “Test Results”.
If the student does not see their AP scores on their account, please have the student log in to their College Board account and provide 2 pieces of information to the Testing Center via email:
- A pdf of their AP Score Report with their name on the account.
- A receipt of your order history showing Ohio State as a recipient.
They can obtain this information by logging into College Board and following the selection path:
- Home > AP Scores > View Your Scores > Score Send Order History
A reasonable amount of time for a student to wait for score postings is roughly 48-72 hours.
First, ensure that the student's AP scores earn course credit by checking OSU's course equivalencies on our Advance Placement webpage.
If the student's AP scores earn credit and EM credit is not posted to their account, reach out to the Testing Center email and let them know course credit from AP scores is missing from their account.
Placement Tests
OSU only offers placement testing proctoring in the Summer for students attending orientation. Otherwise, students will need to contact the respective department regarding their placement.

The Testing Center does not proctor Language Placement Tests. For more information regarding Language Placement exams, visit the Language Placement Test webpage.

The Testing Center does not post scores for any MultiCAT exam (Spanish, French, and German). All other languages will send Language Placement Forms to the Testing Center for posting.
Regardless, all inquiries for Language Placement Test scores are deferred to the CLLC. For questions regarding Language Placement Test scores, please contact the CLLC.
