Requirement Terms in BDP

Requirement terms on Student Plan and Student Sub-Plan tabs in SIS drive BDP requirements.

When a student needs different requirement terms for different parts of their degree, exceptions are no longer required. Most of this is managed via the plan and sub-plan tabs of a student’s CPP stack in SIS.

Note: the General Education Requirements are based on the Requirement Term on the Student Plan tab of the lowest active career number in the CCP stack. If a student needs to be on GEL, the requirement term must be Summer 2022 or earlier. If the student is completing GEL and an updated major (Autumn 2022 or later) if approved, that is an exception a someone from the degree audit team must do to show a newer program year for the major.

Requirement Term on Programs tab drives the BDP link showing in Buckeyelink. The requirement must be Autumn 2017 or later for the link to be available. Anyone can go to http://degreeplanner.osu.edu to log into BPD regardless of the Requirement Term on the Program tab.

To see program versions available in BDP, you can search for it on the Programs link. Most programs start Autumn 2017 or later, but it could depend on their approval date.
