College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Option for:  Current students | High school students | International students | Military and veteran students | Transfer students 

 

CLEP allows students to demonstrate prior learning and earn college credit. Exams are offered in the Testing Center to students of any age.

Take a CLEP exam at the Testing Center

  • First, register with CLEP. An $93 exam fee is paid to CLEP when you register.
  • Then, register online for CLEP exams at the Testing Center.
  • An administration fee of $35 is paid during the registration process. Administration fees (not exam fees) are waived for active-duty and reserve military personnel.

 

Steps to get your scores sent and credit posted

To earn credit for CLEP scores request to have your official score report sent to recipient code #1592, The Ohio State University Testing Center, 585 Student Academic Services Building, 281 W. Lane Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43210. Go to buckeyelink.osu.edu to view your credits, advising report and degree audit. For help, contact your academic advisor.

 

Credits not posted

First, verify on your CollegeBoard account that The Ohio State University (#1592) is listed as a score recipient. If not, contact CLEP at 866-630-9305 to have scores sent to Ohio State. If Ohio State is listed as a recipient institution, verify the accuracy of your information. If items are incomplete or inaccurate, your record may need to be updated — call the Testing Center at 614-292-2241. If Ohio State is listed as a recipient institution and all demographic information appears correct, bring the original copy of your CLEP scores report to the Testing Center for processing.
