Survey of Student Learning Experience (SSLE) Reports

SSLE reports are available the Tuesday after each commencement. There are three ways to access your reports.

  1. An email with a link to view your reports will be sent when available. 
  2. The SSLE Center in CarmenCanvas
  3. Access your Blue homepage

Reports can be viewed in a web browser, and most can be downloaded as PDFs.

Reports with data from Summer 2018 - Summer 2025 reflect results from the previous survey instrument, the Student Evaluation of Instruction (SEI).

Starting Autumn 2025, reports reflect results from the current survey instrument, the Survey of Student Learning Experience (SSLE). 

Instructor-specific reports

The Overview Report is a summary of your class that includes a Frequency Analysis, Score Analysis, and results of required questions for public higher education institutions in Ohio. 

SEI response data from Summer 2018 - Summer 2025 are the SEI All Overview Reports. This report contain all of your one-page Overview Reports in a single report. There are two versions: one report for all regular/standard classes and one report for combined/cross-listed classes.

These reports should be used for Promotion and Tenure dossier, section IVB. 

The Class Detail Report is a multi-page report that includes information from the overview report along with additional data:

  1. Response rate
  2. Score analysis
  3. MLY analysis of quantitative data (student comments)
  4. Results of required questions for public higher education institutions in Ohio 

Response data for all classes from Summer 2018 - Summer 2025 are in the SEI Cumulative Report. This report contains:

  1. Mean scores for each question for each class in order by term.
  2. Number of responses, class size, and university comparisons by class size.

This report should be used for Promotion and Tenure dossier, section IVA.

For classes prior to Summer Term 2018, cumulative reports are still available in the Faculty Center. See SEI Reports for prior terms below.

Reports from the previous evaluation instrument, the Student Evaluation of Instruction (SEI) from spring 2018 and prior are available in the Faculty Center. This includes both the cumulative and individual class reports.  Access these reports as follows:  

  1. Go to Buckeye Link 
  2. Click on the Faculty Center
  3. Use your OSU username and password to log in to the Faculty Center 
  4. Click on the Change Term button; select the term for which you wish a report, and click Continue. Note: choose spring 2018 for a cumulative report. 
  5. Click on the SEI Info button that appears to the left of the desired dates. Note: the icons for the Class Roster, Gradebook, Grade Roster, and SEI Info above your class list are not functional and merely serve to illustrate frequently-used buttons.
  6. Scroll down to the SEI Reports section, click on Generate New SEI Class Report or Generate New SEI Cumulative Report. 
  7. Wait for the page to refresh until the report is generated. 
  8. Once the report is generated, click on View Existing Class Report to see the SEI report. Note: reports you previously generated remain available for you to view, print or download for a two-week period. You can generate a fresh copy of the report at any time. 
  9. Repeat steps 4-8 for each class.

The Historical data report (pdf) contains SEI information from summer 2009 through spring 2018. It is an alternative to the report available in the Faculty Center.

  1. Question 10 results for all classes
  2. Frequency analysis for each question for each class
  3. Comparison scores - the results for each question for the university and the college and/or department, if available 
  4. Question rankings - the three highest and three lowest rated items from all SEI responses
  5. Enrollment reason - breakdown of what reasons students gave each semester for taking your classes

 

 

Unit-level reports

The Unit-level report  is an overview of responses and MLY analytics for all classes in a unit. 

  1. Response rate for the unit. 
  2. Frequency Analysis for each question for the unit as a whole. 
  3. Comparison Scores for the unit, college and university. 
  4. Topics of student comments and their frequency.
  5. Sentiments of student comments and their frequency.

The Export report contains a link to download quantitative data for all classes in the unit as an Excel file. 

The Comment report contains a list of all comments collected for all classes taught within the unit.
