Things to bring for your ETS Computer-Based Test

The only thing you need to bring with you to a scheduled GRE, Praxis I, NBPTS, or iBT TOEFL exam is your valid photo identification.

Scratch paper and pencils, when authorized, will be issued by the Testing Center. Candidates are required to use our paper and pencils and return them following the completion of the exam.

The Testing Center will provide a small locker for personal possessions. No personal property (except photo identification) will be permitted into the testing room. Any item that does not fit into the locker will be placed on the coat rack.

Candidates should dress in layers as the temperature of the testing room may vary.

Several items are strictly prohibited inside the testing room. These include:

  • Hats, except those related to religious affiliation
  • Sunglasses
  • Cellular phones, Blackberries, or other communication devices
  • Cameras
  • Calculators
  • All other electronic devices
  • Notes, notebooks, study materials, papers, pens, and pencils not provided by the Testing Center
