Undergraduate students can earn credit toward a baccalaureate degree or hours toward an associate degree for college-level learning gained through educational experiences outside the classroom, such as employment, volunteer activities, travel, civic activities, military service, private study and in-service training. To pursue this type of credit, a student must submit for faculty review a learning portfolio that exhibits college-level mastery of concepts and learning outcomes. Not every course is eligible for a portfolio review and some courses use credit by exam to confirm content mastery instead of a portfolio review. Award of portfolio credit is done at the discretion of the applicable faculty in conjunction with the University Registrar. For more information, contact Mike Stumpf.
