Winter Quarter Grade Posting Deadlines

Feb 14 (Noon)	Mon	AU10 incomplete grades and/or Extensions due
Mar 17 (Midnight)1*	Thu	Graduating grades need to be posted for students with exams on M, T, W
Mar 18 (Noon)	Fri	Graduating grades need to be posted for students with exams on Th
Mar 21 (Midnight)2*	Mon	Non-Graduating grades need to be posted
Apr 17 (Midnight)	Sun	Last day grades may be posted electronically


Note 1: During "Finals Week" grades must be posted by midnight each night.
This will allow DARS to be updated before OIT end-of-day batch processing.
The following morning degree audits will be available for commencement certifications.

Note 2: The following morning degree audit will be available for processing
of academic warnings, probations, and dismissals.

Winter Quarter Calendar

Jan 2	Sun	Deadline for Winter Qtr. students to withdraw from or enroll in and pay for one of the Student
		Health Insurance plans.
Jan 3	Mon	First day of classes for Winter Qtr.
Jan 7	Fri	Deadline for submitting requests for Resident status for Winter Qtr.
Jan 14	Fri	First day to submit C-2 residency applications for SP11, last day is April 1, 2011
		Application to graduate for master’s and doctoral students due
		in 247 University Hall.
Feb 21	Mon	Deadline for former returning students to request readmission for Spring Qtr.
Mar 2	Wed	Report of Master’s Examination or Final Oral Examination for
		doctoral students due in 247 University Hall.
Mar 9	Wed	Approved master thesis or doctoral dissertations and related fees
		due in 247 University Hall.
Mar 11	Fri	Last day of regularly scheduled classes.
Mar 14-17	Mon-Thu	Final Examinations
Mar 20	Sun	Winter Commencement

Winter Registration Dates

Oct 17	Sun	Last day to clear holds for Winter Qtr prior to windows opening.
		Last day to have permission posted for Winter Qtr prior to
		windows opening.
Oct 19-Jan 21		Registration for Winter Qtr.
Jan 3	Mon	Last day for continuing students to register initially without penalty.
Jan 7	Fri	Last day to transfer colleges or make a campus change for Winter Qtr.
Jan 14	Fri	Last day for new and former/returning students to register
		initially without a penalty.
Jan 17	Mon	“15th Day” for Winter Qtr. The University reserves the right
		to refuse registration and/ or fee payment after this date.

Winter Add/Drop/Withdrawal Deadlines

Jan 2	Sun	Deadline for Winter Qtr. students to select or waive
		Student Health Insurance.
Jan 7 (Midnight)	Fri	Last day to add a Winter Qtr. course without instructor’s
		written permission.
		(Advisor signature required for Graduate students after this date)
Jan 14	Fri	Last day to add a Winter Qtr. course with just written permission of instructor
Jan 21 (Midnight)	Fri	Last day to add a Winter Qtr. course with written permission
		of instructor and dept chair.
		Last day to register for Audit option for Winter Qtr.
		Last day to register for Pass/Non-Pass for Winter Qtr.
		(undergraduates only).
		Last day to add a Winter Qtr. course without petitioning
		(Third Week Rule).
		Last day to drop a Winter Qtr. course without a “W” on your record.
		Last date to drop a class on-line. Drops after this date need to be processed in the student's college office.
Jan 24	Mon	Deadline for freshmen and sophomores to repeat or substitue a course. (Forgiveness Rule --contact your
		college office.)
Feb 18	Fri	Last day to drop a course or withdraw from
		Winter Quarter without petitioning.

Winter Fees and Refund Dates

Oct 31	Sun	First Day WI fees may be paid.
Jan 3	Mon	First day of WI classes.
		Last day to pay WI fees without a penalty.
		Last day to pay WI Residence Hall Fees without penalty (RDH).
		First WI TOPP payment due.
Jan 4	Tue	WI Late Payment Penalty of $100 starts.
Jan 7	Fri	Last Day 100% Refund Period WI.
Jan 14	Fri	Last Day 80% Refund Period WI.
Jan 15	Sat	WI Late Payment Penalty increases to $300.
		WI Late Registration Penalty of $500 starts.
Jan 21	Fri	Last Day 70% Refund Period WI.
Jan 28	Fri	Last Day 60% Refund Period WI.
Feb 3	Thu	Second WI TOPP payment due.
Feb 4	Fri	Last Day 50% Refund Period WI.
Feb 11	Fri	60% point in time for WI SFA withdrawal.

Feb 4-9	Fri,Mon-Wed	Seniors’ (Rank 4), Post-bac, GRD, and GRD/Prof appointments open
Feb 10-15	Thu-Fri,Mon-Tue	Juniors’ (Rank 3) appointments open
Feb 16-21	Wed-Fri,Mon	Sophomores’ (Rank 2) students’ appointments open
Feb 22-25	Tue-Wed,Thu-Fri	Freshmen (Rank 1) et al-conditional, special, and transient (Ranks VST) students’ appointments open

Note - All Students: Late fee payment penalty: $100 for the second day of classes through the second Friday. Beginning on the second Saturday, the penalty increases to $300.

VERY IMPORTANT - Please note that special refund and forfeiture policies apply to students receiving financial aid or fee authorizations. Some students may be required to repay and refund a portion of their aid or fee authorization if they withdraw or drop hours.
