Ohio Residency for Tuition Purposes

For students who have graduated from an Ohio high school.

The OBOR Guideline States:

“A person who, while a resident of this state for state subsidy and tuition surcharge purposes, graduated from a high school in this state or completed the final year of instruction at home as authorized under section 3321.04 of the Revised Code, if the person enrolls in an institution of higher education and establishes domicile in this state, regardless of the student’s residence prior to that enrollment.”

 

Forever Buckeye applies to:

- A student who graduated from an Ohio high school while a resident of Ohio for the state subsidy and tuition surcharge purposes and has established a current residence in Ohio.

 

Forever Buckeye does not apply to:

- A student who is a GED recipient.

- A student who graduated from an Ohio high school, but has yet to establish residence in Ohio.

- A student who was not a resident of Ohio for the state subsidy and tuition surcharge purposes when they graduated from an Ohio high school.
